PREFACE

PHANTASM seeks to understand and reform the concept of identity by revisiting the past, appreciating the present and exploring what the future holds. To create a new narrative for identity, PHANTASM relinquishes itself in ‘Suffocation’, revolutionises against all odds in ‘Transformation’ and rises up in a new world in ‘Liberation’.

Designing for a contemporary market from a Southeast Asian perspective, the Level 2 students from BA(Hons) Fashion Media and Industries programme explore the theme of Phantasmagoria to develop a range of fashion products. Linked by the fantasies of what the unknown can bring, they reflect on, and address, the socio-cultural changes in the context of fashion and art through unique brand identities and marketing strategies.
